Our aim
We want everyone planning a move abroad to be able to use this site, whatever device or assistive technology they rely on. We build and review against WCAG 2.2 level AA (also published as ISO/IEC 40500), the standard referenced by the ADA, the UK Equality Act, and the EU Accessibility Act.
What we've done
- Semantic HTML with a single, logical heading order on every page.
- A “Skip to content” link and full keyboard operation — every control is reachable and shows a visible focus outline.
- Form fields have associated labels; validation errors are announced to screen readers and linked to their field.
- Meaningful images carry descriptive alternative text; decorative images are hidden from assistive tech.
- Text meets AA colour-contrast; touch targets are at least 48 px.
- Motion respects your reduce motion system setting, and a pause control lets anyone stop the moving background and carousel.
Known limitations
The policy checker and quote form are custom interactive tools. We test them for keyboard and screen-reader use, but if you meet a barrier we haven't caught, we want to hear about it and fix it. When analytics are enabled, some third-party scripts we don't control may load — only with your consent.
Report a problem
If any part of this site is hard to use, email hello@coveredabroad.com with the page and what happened. We treat access barriers as bugs and aim to respond promptly. This statement is reviewed as the site changes.
