Who we are
Covered Abroad (“we”, “us”) operates this website as an independent insurance introducer. Covered Abroad is an insurance introducer, not an insurer. Policies are underwritten by Regency Assurance (regulated by the FSRC, Nevis). We may earn a commission when you request a quote.
What we collect
- Quote requests: your name, email, phone, preferred contact time, destination, visa type, number of adults and children, the age of the oldest applicant, timeline, chosen cover level, and any checker result you arrived with.
- Checker and subscribe forms: your email and, where relevant, the destination, visa, and checker verdict.
- Technical data: a one-way hashed form of your IP address (for abuse prevention — we do not store your raw IP), your browser user-agent, and any UTM campaign parameters in the link you arrived from.
- Analytics: aggregate usage data via Google Analytics 4 and the Meta Pixel, where enabled (see “Cookies and analytics”).
Why we use it, and our legal basis
We use your quote details to prepare and deliver a quote and to have our underwriting partner’s team contact you — on the basis of your consent, which you give by submitting the form and which you can withdraw at any time. We keep security and abuse-prevention data (such as a one-way hashed IP) on the basis of our legitimate interest in keeping the site safe. We use analytics and advertising-measurement cookies only with your consent — given, and withdrawn, through the cookie banner and the “Cookie settings” link in the footer.
Who we share it with
To provide a quote, we share your request with our underwriting partner, Regency Assurance (regulated by the FSRC (Nevis)), and its sales team. We send a minimal internal notification (first name, cover level, destination, and a reference number only) to our own team via Telegram; the full record stays in our database. We use Neon (a managed Postgres provider) to store lead data. We do not sell your personal data.
International transfers
Because we operate internationally, your data may be processed outside your country of residence, including by our database provider and our underwriting partner (FSRC (Nevis)). Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers.
How long we keep it
We keep quote and enquiry data only as long as needed to handle your request and for a reasonable period afterward for record-keeping and legitimate business purposes, then delete or anonymise it. You can ask us to erase it sooner.
Your rights
Subject to applicable law (including the GDPR where it applies), you can ask to access, correct, delete, or port your data, object to or restrict processing, and withdraw consent. To exercise any of these, email hello@coveredabroad.com. You may also complain to your local data-protection authority.
Cookies and analytics
Necessary cookies that make the site work are always on. Everything else — analytics and advertising measurement — is off until you opt in. When these are enabled, a consent banner asks for your choice before any non-essential cookie or pixel loads; nothing tracks you until you accept, and you can accept or reject each category on its own.
Change or withdraw your choice at any time with the “Cookie settings” link in the footer — saying no is as easy as saying yes.
| Category | What it does | Provider |
|---|---|---|
| Necessary | Core site function and security. Always on; sets no tracking identifier. | Covered Abroad |
| Analytics | Anonymous usage statistics — which pages help and where people drop off. | Google Analytics 4 |
| Marketing | Measures whether one of our ads led to a quote request. | Meta Pixel |
For analytics we use Google Consent Mode (denied by default); the Meta Pixel does not load at all until you opt in to marketing. Blocking cookies in your browser also works, and the site still functions.
