The 2026 deadlines
The Federal Public Service Finance lists these deadlines for 2026:
- 30 June 2026 — if you return documents by post (a paper return, or the paper form to modify a proposal for a simplified return)
- 19 July 2026 — if you use MyMinfin (Tax-on-web) to file your return or modify your simplified-return proposal
- 31 October 2026 — if you use MyMinfin to file a return with specific income

The simplified return
In principle, you file a tax return every year. But if your tax situation is relatively simple, the FPS Finance makes it easier: you'll probably receive a proposal for a simplified tax return. You can check and modify it through MyMinfin or on paper within the deadlines above.
If you have specific income, you file your return online through MyMinfin, with the later 31 October deadline.
60-second check
Not sure the policy you have meets your destination's written rule? Run it through the policy check now, before you build the rest of the file around it.
Check my policyExtensions
The FPS Finance can grant an extension, but only if your request arrives within the deadline — for example, by 30 June for a paper return — and is based on force majeure or a serious reason, such as serious illness or documents lost to theft or fire.
For newcomers, the easiest route is to set up MyMinfin access early, so the online deadline and the simplified proposal are both open to you.
