How the tickets work
HVV's single tickets let you get on, change lines, get off and get back on — as long as you're travelling on the most direct route to your destination. Round trips and return journeys aren't allowed on a single.
With a day ticket, one adult and up to three children aged 6–14 can travel until 6am the following day — a good deal for families.
You can buy single, day and group tickets in the online shop or HVV apps with a 7% discount, or at ticket machines or on the bus. On buses in Hamburg and Lüneburg you'll need the HVV prepaid card; outside Hamburg AB you can still pay cash.
